Prof. T C Joseph Gold Medal Examination
This is a prestigious Gold medal exam conducted by Kerala Orthopaedic Association to find the best orthopaedic resident studying in Kerala in a current academic year. This award was instituted by Prof. T C Joseph, former Professor of Orthopaedics, at Govt Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. Department of Orthopaedics, at Govt Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, is honored to conduct the exam.
Who are eligible to appear for the exam?
All postgraduate residents in Orthopaedics doing their final year (MS, D-Ortho, DNB) studying in various institutions in the state of Kerala are eligible. Those wishing to appear should bring a letter of confirmation duly signed and forwarded by their Head of department. He/She should be a life/ associate member of KOA, or can become a member before the exam.
The Exam
The exam is conducted in 2 parts:
Part 1 – MCQ’s
A set of 50 MCQ’s, to be conducted on 10-10-2015. There will not be any negative marking. The first 4 candidates , who receive the maximum marks in the MCQ’s will be selected for Part 2 Exam.
Part 2 – Exam:
A – OSCE: There will be 10 OSCE stations and will cover every aspect Orthopaedics
B – Clinical Case: Examination and discussion
Each candidate will be assessed in an objective format by an esteemed panel of examiners. The candidate who gets the maximum marks in Part B will be awarded the Prestigious Prof. T C Joseph Gold Medal in KOACON 2016 at Thrissur. Hence gear up and prepare for the challenge.
